Pets at Old Schoolhouse

The Cottage & Area

This house doesn't have any reviews yet as it's brand new to the market.

Gorgeous house, full of character, wonderful garden with stunning views over Loch Fyne. Sleeping six, dog and family friendly, situated in Cumlodden, just 8 miles from Inveraray. You will discover a variety of great shops and dining options including the renowned George Hotel restaurant and pub. Inveraray’s own Castle and grounds are magical, winning Historic Houses Garden of the year 2024.

Each bedroom has views over the Loch to wake up to, following a peaceful night’s sleep in the luxurious bedding. Two rooms with king size beds and the third with two single beds, comfortably accommodating family and friends. The bathroom upstairs has a roll top bath to sink into, with a shower room downstairs located under the stairs.
Very well-equipped kitchen with large fridge freezer, Lacanche range, slow cooker, microwave and air fryer, providing everything you need from a roast to baking a cake! The kitchen table and chairs located in front of the window is just the best place to start the day. Following on from the kitchen is the dining room, seating 6 comfortably, with a cool pin ball light box offering a great ambience whilst gazing out over the Loch. Off the dining room is a utility area, equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, highchair, cot and some dog bits.

Wood burner and super comfy sofas in the living room, with a Smart TV featuring apps like Netflix and Amazon makes for a lovely evening. (Please bring your login details with you). From this room there is a wonderful studio/sunroom providing a relaxing space with turntable, vinyl’s, books and board games. A great space for morning coffee or a night cap. Yoga mat and weights for those that feel inclined!

The house has a Starlink satellite internet service with range extenders, ensuring good service throughout the house.

The property features a large private garden with seating and BBQ area to enjoy the beautiful views. The burn runs off the hills behind down through the garden, with two bridges you can stand and enjoy the sound of running water. Part of the garden can be closed off, so dogs have a safe contained space and there is a covered washing line. 3-4 cars can park comfortably on the drive with close access to the Loch for launching paddle boards or kayaks or maybe some wild swimming - popular activity in the area.

Several fantastic restaurants are located nearby, the award-winning Inver and The Oyster Catcher at Otter Ferry, a little further round the other side of the Loch - well worth the drive. Loch Fyne Oyster Bar is also within easy reach for lunch, we do recommend booking all these places in advance.
The location serves as an ideal base for exploring all the area and beyond. Day trips to the Isles of Bute, Gigha and Mull offer exciting adventures. The Cowal Peninsula known as Argyll’s secret coast features numerous hill walks and coastal trails for exploration. Local attractions include Oban, a 45-mile drive taking just over an hour and Glasgow a little further.

Dog friendly self catering is increasingly popular, and 2 dogs are very welcome at the cottage.  We ask that you bring blankets to cover soft furnishings if there is any chance they will jump up.

We do not limit the size/breed of dogs you bring.  They are charged at £10 each per week, so we just ask that you confirm in advance the number you are to bringing, and leave the property and garden clean and tidy.

The garden has an area to the rear which can be closed off to provide a safe space for your furry friend, and there are plenty of forestry walks within a couple of miles of the cottage.
